What Age Is Too Old for R.A.P.
No matter where you go in the world, Hip-Hop is forever prevalent! For example, when Tupac Shakur died, the widespread mourn for his death was world wide. It's even been said that Hip-Hop is not only Black culture but American culture. It has the largest cultural profits for America.
Most people wonder what is Hip-Hop actually. Well, the consensus is that its four elements are: DJing, break dancing, being an emcee, and graffiti. Others have contended that there is a fifth element of Hip-Hop, knowledge! All five elements existed in Hip-Hop when it began but there has never been a rule book on artist age criteria!
As with many cultural innovations, there's always a genesis. Indeed, there is. Also, Hip-Hop has its humble beginnings in the 1980s and '90s. Still to this day, there's no method to determine the age for being an emcee. Many people have put their two-cents in on the subject and stated that 30 is old enough. I disagree because, to me, rapping is a form of art delivery, just as singing or spoken-word poetry are forms of art delivery.
My response to the naysayers is that it is stupid to put a cap on one's own cultural creativity. Who are we to tell the next person that they should stop sharing their creativity at the age of 30? That's stupid! Of course, these types of opinions always come from those who can't sing, rap, nor dance. You know the type of people who only criticize others about what they themselves can't do. Thanks to artist, rather moguls, like P Diddy, Master P and Jay-Z, the artist age bar is continually being raised higher and higher. Even KRS-ONE said that anyone should consider DJing or MCing to make extra income because the world loves Hip-Hop and it's here to stay.
So what is the age to stop rapping? Should we set an age limit on the opportunity for someone to make millions from their art? Who determines the age range of a rapper? YOU DECIDE!!!!!
